EVERYONE EATS. Durham

15 Pantries • More than 30,000 People Served in Durham County • Growing Together

Urgent Need

In Durham County, far too many families are forced to make impossible choices—between paying rent or buying groceries, between keeping the lights on or putting food on the table. We believe that access to nutritious food is a basic human right, not a privilege. This is why we’re raising funds with the Everyone Eats. Durham campaign. Our objective is to support our local food pantries who are working tirelessly to ensure no one in our neighborhoods goes hungry.

Durham’s network of food pantries is striving to fill those gaps. However, they are facing serious funding shortfalls due to recent federal cuts including changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP- formerly known as food stamps). On top of that, rising food prices have made the situation even more challenging. As a result, pantry participation has surged by 30%, creating a growing gap between the community’s needs and the resources available to meet them.

With 1 in 7 people in Durham County experiencing food insecurity, our 15 local food pantries — which serve more than 30,000 people each month — are struggling to keep shelves stocked with essential items. Without immediate support, thousands of families could be left without access to the nutritious food they rely on.

Support This Effort

To meet the need, 15 local food pantries and community partners are launching the fundraiser Everyone Eats. Durham — a coordinated effort to raise funds for the purchase and distribution of healthy, high-demand foods that are no longer reliably available through federal programs. This includes fresh produce, meat, dairy, and other staples that are essential to a balanced diet but often missing from traditional food donations. Donations will also help with food pantry infrastructure, to ensure pantries are able to store these foods in a safe manner and provide the best service possible to their clients.

Your support will help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry — and that everyone in Durham has access to the nourishment they need.

This isn’t just about food—it’s about justice, equity, and community.

When we come together to care for one another, we build a stronger, healthier Durham for everyone. Join us in this movement. GIVE TODAY and help ensure that Everyone Eats.
